We are very proud to announce that we have achieved Corporate Chartered Financial Planners status for the third year running.
The accolade confirms our commitment to professionalism and giving the very best advice to our clients who are always at the forefront of our business. Being independent allows us to access the whole of the market and to source investment opportunities that we know are suited to our clients’ circumstances and ethical principles.
Chartered titles are jealously guarded by professional bodies and are not awarded lightly. Therefore Chartered status brings with it a number of serious obligations. The title Chartered Financial Planners is a public declaration that the advice given by our firm:
- is of the highest quality;
- is based solely on the researched needs of the customer; and
- is provided by someone not exceeding their level of competency
Code of Ethics
It also signifies that our firm’s staff, where members of the Chartered Insurance Institute, are governed by a Code of Ethics, where they undertake annual Continued Professional Development. This places a higher degree of burden on our advisers, each of them are to drive forward their knowledge in the pursuit of the best outcomes for our clients and to act at all times in accordance with the Code of Ethics. This Code exists to guide the profession and to protect the public. It proves the whole business is knowledgeable, ethical with their dealings and competent. It also enables us to demonstrate our professional commitment to raising standards of knowledge as well as technical competency.
There are only approx. 900 Corporate Chartered firms in the UK, this accounts for less than 20% of the financial adviser firms registered in the UK.
As of January 2020, 50% of advisers at Chartered Financial Planning firms must hold the Chartered Financial Planner title, an increase from the current 25% requirement. will apply from each firm’s 2020 renewal date. The 50% rule has been introduced to promote professionalism in the financial advice sector. Currently, we already meet this requirement and envisage we will be one of an even smaller number of firms who will maintain the status.
