Who are we?

Introducing our Green Team (of IFA's and administrative staff that is)

If you would like to E-Mail anyone please click on their name.

Alan Kirkham
Director

Alan has been involved in the green ethical movement for many years. His interest started in the animal rights movement, slowly broadening into the wider green and human rights issues. Alan has been deeply influenced by the Quakers and the writings of Steven Covey. An experienced and qualified IFA, Alan brings a real commitment to his work. Alan now brings up his three teenage children as their primary parent. For fun he enjoys sailing, playing Bb bass in the local brass band and just being around friends. He is a member of Quakers, The Labour Party and other green/animal organizations and works as a volunteer counselor for Relate.

Tracey Miles
Office manager

Tracey is our office supremo and rules with a rod of silk. Having worked with Alan since he started working in ethical finance in the Norfolk area she is undoubtedly the person to talk to if you have a query about the latest goings on of the business. She leads an active lifestyle and when she is not running the office, or looking after her children, she enjoys going to aerobics. She has committed to making Norwich a cleaner and greener place by cycling everywhere she goes.

Lisa Hardman
Independent Financial Adviser

Lisa joined the company in January 2003 after having spent 8 years working for Norfolk Education and Action for Development on their fair trade and international trade projects. She is also a director of Labour Behind the Label (a UK organisation working to improve conditions in the global garment industry). Lisa has a degree in Development Studies and an MA in Education. She is involved in a number of local development and human rights charities as well as the local Danish Society... Yes, she is a direct descendent of Effik!!! Lisa is married with two young children who keep her busy the days she doesn't work for investing ethically

Andy Hockaday
Independent Financial Adviser

Andy joined the team in June 2006. He had been working as a fully qualified ‘conventional’ IFA for the previous 8 years with Norwich Union and then Barclays in London. He had become increasing disillusioned with contemporary corporate culture with its focus on short term profit at the expense of all other values. He made the move as he wanted to pursue a role where he felt he would be part of the solution, rather than part of the cause of the many problems facing the world today. He will be focusing on developing the business in the Cambridge region. He enjoys spending free time with his partner, young daughter and friends as well as activities such as yoga and cycling

Phil Cockrell
Independent Financial Adviser

Phil joined ie in February 2001 having previously worked in Norwich as a production controller for a regional printing company. He graduated from Leicester in 1996 before completing a Master of Science degree in Environmental Sciences at the UEA. Phil admits to being passionate about the environment and sustainability and this has seen him become actively involved with a number of local conservation organisations. Phil is currently our 'mortgage specialist' and also runs our office in Ipswich from which he markets ie to Suffolk

Debbie Barling
Administrative Assistant

Debbie joined the company in April 2004 as Alan’s part-time admin assistant, having moved up to Norfolk from Hertfordshire a couple of years ago. She previously worked as a Secretary for the Ministry of Defence in London and Thorn EMI Lighting, Enfield and since having her children, as School Secretary for a high school in Stevenage.
She produces schedules of investments, obtains illustrations and prepares client files prior to appointments as well as day-to-day letters, reports, etc. - basically trying to make life a whole lot easier for Alan!

Steve Newman
Marketing

Steve recently joined the firm having previously worked in a variety of fields including aircraft electronics, computers, alternative medicine and the charity ‘Band Aid’ in Africa. He is passionately against factory farming from the humanitarian and health points of view and is a supporter of the organic movement.
He loves the great outdoors - hill walking, rock climbing and gathering wild food. Steve is currently studying economics with the Open University as well as the industry’s own Financial Planning Certificate.
