What does ethical financial planning mean to you?

I believe we can all help make the world a better place and what you do with your money is one way of doing this. Your own financial security should not harm the planet or people. Indeed, the conversations I have with clients is more about being part of the solution to many of the problems facing planet earth and humanity, and ethical-screened investments are part of this. Since I have been a financial adviser, the range of funds available to ethically minded investors has increased significantly and the principle of ‘good business is also sustainable business’ has been proven time and time again. I invest my own money in many of the same funds as my clients, as I believe in them.

What's it like working at Investing Ethically?

I really enjoy it - the staff, the clients and the ethics! Financial planning is key to a sense of financial security. I find it very satisfying helping clients to understand their options – and to navigate through what life can sometimes throw at you. I love doing puzzles and financial planning is often like a jigsaw – taking lots of bits (investments, pensions, objectives, ethics etc) and putting them together to create a complete picture for a client. I am supported by some great colleagues. The primary contact for clients is the adviser but we are very much a team, all working together.
